Participatory video is when a group or community comes together to create their own film.   The process of participatory video empowers, individuals and groups, through creative expression,  to explore issues and concerns effecting their communities  and to communicate their needs.  Participatory Video can be a highly effective tool to engage and mobilize marginalized peoples.  It is also an excellent way to preserve oral history and to tell stories creatively. Ariel has over 12 years of experience in film/video pre production, production and post production.   She has worked extensively on documentaries, music videos, narrative fictions, public service announcements, and promotional video.
